Kim Soo-hyun is presenting at TMA. That is not a drama comeback
The Fact Music Awards booked Kim Soo-hyun as a presenter in Busan on 19 September 2026. That is confirmed. A Korean acting return is not.

Yonhap, quoting awards officials, reported that Kim will appear as a presenter at The Fact Music Awards in Busan on 19 September 2026. Herald Business, citing the organising committee the same day, put him at Busan Asiad Main Stadium. Maeil Business called it his first official domestic appearance in about a year and six months, counted from his March 2025 press conference.
He has already been seen overseas. Yonhap and Maeil Business both note a live appearance in Indonesia. Yonhap adds a fan event in the Philippines in October; Maeil Business dates that meeting to 2 October in Manila.

Why the slot is loaded
In March 2025, after the death of actress Kim Sae-ron, allegations about Kim Soo-hyun's private life ended most of his domestic schedule. Yonhap reports that he acknowledged a relationship and rejected claims it took place when she was a minor; police later dropped an underage-dating charge for lack of evidence. The same dispatch says YouTuber Kim Se-ui was arrested over allegedly spreading false information about that relationship.
None of that is relitigated by a presenter booking. It is the reason a music-awards walk-on is being read as a test.
What Korean users are arguing
Fan boards this week split along a line Maeil Business also recorded in the press: some readers treat the TMA slot as a low-key restart, others say a domestic stage is still too soon. Theqoo threads about the booking are heat, not evidence. They do not add facts the committee has not stated.
Attending TMA should not be written up as a drama comeback. Maeil Business says so directly. Until a project is named, the confirmed fact remains the smaller one: he is booked to hand someone an award in Busan on 19 September.
